Well if we talk about one of the best tourist sites in India we have to say that Delhi is the first place to visit. Delhi – The capital of India is believed to be in the list of one of the oldest cities on the planet which still exist, next to with Varanasi and the great city – Damascus. This legend approximates it to be over 5,000 years old. The great city Delhi is said to be built and destroyed 11 times till now. The oldest suspected embodiment of the city shows up in the Indian legendary epic Mahabharata as Indraprastha. The most primitive historically recognized name of the city is Qila Rai Pithora. It was there in 10th century A.D. according to our historical reports. This city was the capital of empire of Prithviraj Chauhan and was known Rai Pithora in short. Prithviraj Chauhan was famous for his conquers but he lost his empire while fighting for it with marauding invaders which came from central Asia, including Muhammed Ghori particularly. Chauhan’s ancestors are said that they took the city into custody from the Tomar Rajputs who were endorsed with founding Delhi. Anangpal, a Tomar ruler perhaps shaped the first recognized regular fort here known as ‘Lal Kot’, which was later taken over by Prithviraj and the city was extended by him. Some of the remains of the fort battlements are still able to be seen around Qutab Minar and Mehrauli.

Delhi’s type of weather is, gloomy to say, disgracefully bad, combining the baking infertility of Rajasthan’s deserts with the frosty cold of the Himalayas. From April to October, temperature is sizzling hot (over 40°C is frequent), and the cloudburst rains surge the city in July and August. With each air-conditioner in a row at full discharge, the city’s squeaky infrastructure is often prolonged beyond the contravention point, with power and water outages common but a hell lot of development has taken place in the city during some years and has become very high tech.

It is situated on the western end of the Himalayas; Ladakh has four major mountain ranges – the Great Himalayan Zanskar, Ladakh and the Karakoram – ephemeral through it.
